We are officially on holidays! We came to Galway a few days ago and have been touring The Burren, Cliffs of Moher, Ailwee Caves, and more! We are staying at Gort na Corrib, which are townhomes used by college students during the school year and vacation rentals during the summer.
The weather has gotten a bit cooler since the start of the trip but still pretty amazing! A handful of the kids swam at the beach in Dingle Peninsula (not Miss Casey or Emily, brrr!!)
Everyone is having a great time and can't believe it's almost time to go home! Tomorrow we are going to the Aran Islands to ride bikes, picnic, and play on the beach! Saturday everyone has a free day in Galway for shopping, exploring (maybe a nap!) and just spending time together before our flight home on Sunday.

Riverdance was amazing!! It was on at the Gaietty Theater downtown Dublin. The Irish Life Experience was able to get us all front row seats! Bobby Hodges was the principal dancer (oh so dreamy!) and all the ILE students had a great time! The story, music, and of course the dancing, was above and beyond! Definitely a must for anyone visiting Dublin!
Today we went to the Guinness Factory where our students could learn about (but not drink!) the mighty black stuff! From there we had a free day to shop and explore this vibrant city.

Yesterday was one of Miss Casey's favorite days - Giant's Causeway and the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge! We were on the bus by 7:00am (that's 2:00am Maryland time) to make our way up north for these beautiful sites!
The Giant's Causeway is an area of about 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, the result of an ancient volcanic eruption. It is located in County Antrim on the north coast of Northern Ireland.
Carrick-a-Rede is a tiny fishing island, that is now mostly visited by tourists by a rope bridge connecting it to the mainland.
The students were able to explore these mystical places and take pictures before heading to Ballycastle for dinner. Ballycastle is a cute little town on the water's edge, they have great fish & chips! From there it was a long and sleepy bus ride back to Dublin.
Tonight we are off to see Riverdance!

We've been having so much fun! We've been able to visit Cahir Castle, Kilkenny Castle, and Rock of Cashel! Emily couldn't resist this beautiful landscape for a birdie! We are in Dublin now, staying at the King's Hospital boarding school. There are many other students here too! Irish kids, Italian, and Spanish! They are all looking forward to the disco that will be on later this week!
The students have been continuing with their classes and Irish Dance classes! They all now know skips, sevens, The Walls Of Limerick, the easy jig, and Haymakers Jig! The non-dancers are getting quite good too!

Today Miss Casey, Emily, and the Irish Life Experience watched the Leinster hurling finals at Croke Park, Dublin! Hurling is one of Ireland’s national sports and the fastest field sport in the world! Croke Park is the third largest stadium in Europe! The match was between Galway and Kilkenny, so the kids were sporting either maroon and white for Galway, or black and yellow for Kilkenny. The match was close the whole way and wound up being a draw at the end! Unlike American football, there is no overtime to settle the score, the two teams will be rescheduled to play again next week to see who goes on to the last round before All Irelands.

We are currently residing at Newtown Boarding School in Waterford, Ireland! After landing in Dublin, the group of 14 students and six staff went off to Glendalough for a walk and packed lunch. The weather in Ireland is unreal! Cloudless skies and highs in the 80's! Not the cold rain we're use to! The students started their classes today and had a workshop in hurling, the fastest field sport in the world! We are off to Croke Park tomorrow in Dublin, the third largest stadium in Europe, for the Leinster final in hurling! The students also had their first Irish Dance lesson today! Besides, Emily & Miss Casey, there are three other students with dance experience! They each did a step down the line and also demonstrated The Walls of Limerick for the group, which was the dance all the students learned today.
We have limited internet access, so we'll write again when we can! Cheers!
